From the President. . .

Kansas Respiratory Care Society (KRCS) Members,

It is an honor and a great privilege to serve as your President for 2024 and 2025. Healthcare is facing significant pressures, such as increasing costs to provide care while reimbursement has remained flat, barriers to patients accessing care, and workforce challenges, including labor shortages. There is no better time for the Respiratory Care profession to rise to the challenge and lead initiatives for the health of those we serve. It is our opportunity to bring forward creative ways to expand our profession and care for Kansans.

In the coming months, I want to connect with you to learn more about your work. I want to talk about how we can work together across the state to empower each other to advance the profession, strengthen the value of Respiratory Care across healthcare, lead innovative care models, and recruit individuals to join our profession. I am excited to support each of you and the great work you are doing across the state, nationally, and internationally!

I encourage everyone to get involved. If you have coworkers who are not members of the AARC, ask them to join us today. Or if you want to learn more about your membership benefits, check out the AARC website at www.aarc.org/membership. With your AARC membership as a resident of Kansas, you automatically become a KRCS member, and we have many ways for you to get connected right here in Kansas. Check out our website at www.krcs.org to learn more and register for the upcoming seminar. I look forward to seeing you there and networking more!

Let’s make a difference together!
