Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in North Central Kansas offering 24/7 emergency care, OB, surgery, med surg, and swing-bed along with all of the diagnostic and therapy departments including Pulmonary Rehab.  Our hospital is served by nine family practice physicians, several mid-levels and a variety of specialty physicians.  We will soon be moving into our all new patient rooms, OB and Surgery areas while we move into phase two of the remodel for the rest of the facility.  Clay Center is centrally located in the state giving easy access to many locations: 35 minutes to Manhattan, 60 minutes to Salina, 90 minutes to Topeka, 2 hours to Wichita, and 3 hours to KC.

RT’s travel throughout the hospital helping our co-workers assess and treat patients.
They are emergent responders for trauma, code blue, rapid response and MTP.
We also work to educate our patients for better health after discharge.

Position Summary:

·         This position is responsible for independently performing respiratory care procedures which requires the ability to interpret physician orders, assess patient needs, deliver prescribed therapy and evaluate patient response. This includes invasive procedures that may be performed with minimal supervision and minor assistance in patient care units and critical care areas. Therapists will serve in a consulting role by communicating suggestions to other members of the clinical team regarding the respiratory care delivered to patients in all areas of the hospital. The position requires the ability to respond promptly to changes in workload and make adjustments in assignments as needed to achieve optimal productivity, efficacy and quality patient care.

Qualifications and Skills

the needs of home oxygen/ventilator patients.  Individual will need to have experience with all home oxygen
and ventilator equipment.  Individual will be responsible for setting up home oxygen/ventilator patients. 
Individual will also be responsible for checking and maintaining patients home oxygen/ventilator equipment, along with delivering oxygen cylinders.  Individual will be required to make phone calls to current oxygen patients to

clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.

Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and
new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management.
